Hey all
My name is Mike Suter, I live in South Shropshire.
I want to get into trialling with my pal James, we both have a keen intrest in all things oily, James is a mechanic and I dont mind waving a spanner at stuff either, I am a bit of a Volvo nut, my current one being a 240 estate that I have fitted a 940 turbo engine into.
We have done a bit of offroading in the past, mainly in a sj410 which I enjoyed a lot.
We were looking for a Volvo 340 for classic trialling (but anything will do) I found one with 9 months MOT and 6 months tax, the bloke said we could have it for £70 to cover the tax he just put on it but I think he's had better offer, I was thinking the 340 would be ideal with RWD, rear mounted gearbox and leaf springs on the back (being easily jack uppable) Michael suggests I ask here if anyone has a car for sale, our initial budget being around the £100 mark.
I was also wondering if it is within the rules to share the driving on the stages during the events as I'm sure we would both like to have a bash at it. (excuse the pun)

Its time for ACTC Trophies to be returned
Message from Tina Allaway - Its that time of year again! Myself and Giles are collecting in the ACTC trophies for engraving ready for this years Annual Dinner & Awards on the 13th June. Please can you put a notice on your message board asking if anyone is taking part on the Kyrle in March please can they bring their trophy with them and pass them either to me or to Giles?

4WD's disabled to 2WD
Jason Byrom asks - The use of disabled 4X4s on classic trials, will all events take 4x4s that have a prop removed aka a 4x4 X-90!!?? I know you can get a 2wd one but you wont get the low range on a 2wd!!

Marlin Help Required

I am looking for help with steering on a marlin kit car running on marina front legs and rack, 4 turns lock to lock is like driving a boat, need a higher gear, Arnie Martin said you maybe able to help with this matter or know someone who can.

Clee Hills Trial - Postscript
There are now some nice photos from the trial on the ACTC site.
As an aside, I received my ACTC observers reports, one of which said "quite a lot of hills are similar - leading nowhere" which I found quite strange, as there is a way out of the top of EVERY section on this trial, if you have the ability to get there.
The same person also said "there must be an enormous choice of sections in this area". I would therefore like to cordially invite this observer to come back in the summer and show me where these sections are, because Jonathan and I can't find them and I've been looking for nearly 30 years!

Trialists in the Snow
I will own up, I`m stuck at home in Somerset because I cannot drive to work. Hot drink, food, phone, blanket, tow rope, shovel, warm cloths and off up the A303. Followed the snow plough so if any one wants some Salt its in my radiator ! Road blocked which ever way I tried - claim a bulk - HGV waggons sideways on all the roads up over Salisbury plain. Please don`t phone asking why I of all people did not get to work - I`v had it all morning. Hope you all fair better and take care, no marshals to push you out.

The Kyrle Classic Trial
This year the Trial runs on Sunday 29th March.
Very sorry but no Class O this year.
Regulations are now available and have been sent to all ACTC registered contenders and all last years entrants.
Regs will also be available to download from the ACTC web site or from www.rossmotorsports.co.uk

Maureen Chattle
It is a very sad day. Maureen died yesterday, finally loosing her long, painful but incredibly brave fight against cancer. The disease would have taken a lesser person sooner, but Maureen did not give in easily, even going abroad for treatment that allowed her to experience more of life.
Maureen drove on many MCC trials, driving her partner Ross Nuten's Dellow Mk2. I am sure your thoughts will be with Ross and Maureen's family at this very sad time.
